The meh generation

This recent Salon post is unexpectedly refreshing, and well worth the read.  It sums up something I’ve been meaning to say, but could never quite put my finger on: basically the trauma of growing up in the 70s  has us well prepared for the worst this world has to offer.  We have realistic expectations because they were lowered so much when we were children.  We were never promised unicorns, so we learned to get by on our own two feet. Somehow I find this very refreshing, because the opposite just seems like a complete disaster.  Go read the article, it’s definitely worth it, and makes me want to write something about the changing dynamic of video games…
